The Organization:
Community Wealth Ventures (CWV) provides consulting services to nonprofits, foundations, and corporations to build their capacity and leverage their assets to create sustainable social and financial wealth. Founded in 1997, CWV is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Share Our Strength. Profits generated from CWV’s consulting support Share Our Strength’s anti-hunger mission. In this sense, CWV is an example of what it teaches its clients is possible.
CWV’s expertise involves helping nonprofits identify, plan, and execute earned income business ventures and corporate partnerships. CWV has worked with more than 160 nonprofit organizations as they have considered and launched these types of ventures and partnerships. Currently, CWV has 18 staff members, primarily based in its Washington, DC office.
Position Summary:
The Associate will play an integral role in directing business strategy for high-performing nonprofit clients by providing in-depth research and analysis. The Associate will be engaged in multiple projects as part of a consulting team comprised of a Director, Senior Consultant and Associate. The Associate will contribute to solutions across the spectrum of the business development process, from market research and marketing strategy to operations and financial analysis. The Associate will be actively engaged in fostering social change and increasing organizational capacity and sustainability through developing solutions such as business plans, corporate partnerships and feasibility assessments. In addition to undertaking multiple high-priority client projects, the Associate will also be engaged in ongoing, firm-wide responsibilities and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Conducting primary and secondary market research and analysis as part of client project teams
• Developing key findings and strategic insights from research for project managers and clients
• Assisting project managers with development of client deliverables
• Presenting select findings and solutions to clients
• Researching prospective clients and briefing directors for sales meetings
• Writing client proposals and preparing client contracts
• Managing and completing additional firm responsibilities as needed
• General and specific administrative responsibilities as needed
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or related field
• 1-3 years related professional work experience
• Excellent research skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Skilled in working with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Ability to take ownership of projects
• Ability to handle multiple projects at once
• Collegial and collaborative in working with co-workers
• Demonstrated commitment to social change
• Optimistic, energetic and passionate
Salary and Benefits:
Salary range starts at $30,000, depending on experience. Community Wealth Ventures offers a comprehensive benefits package, including life insurance, health insurance, dental, LTD, STD, 401K, commuter benefits, and FSAs.
