Street Soccer USA Cup

DC has the honor of hosting the Street Soccer USA Cup, a unique sport for social change event featuring 18 street soccer teams from across the country. The players are currently or formerly homeless individuals who are working with their coaches and teammates to set and achieve goals on and off the field -- to overcome homelessness and improve their lives.  This three-day tournament takes place June 30 - August 1 and serves as a catalyst for life changing development among the homeless.

The Cup consists of an opening day Parade of States, Celebrity First Kick, live musical entertainment by Khao Cates, exhibition matches, food, and selection of the US National Street Soccer team which will represent the US at the Homeless World Cup in Brazil in September. Join YCDC in our cheering section for the Cup on Sunday, August 1 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM.  We are hoping to fill the stands with supportive, cheering fans.  Feel free to make banners and posters to cheer on your favorite city, bring noisemakers/signs, sing supporter songs, etc.
